6th March

We celebrated 'World Book Day' on Thursday 5th March. We loved dressing up as story characters and completed activities throughout the day.

English

This week we have continued to work with the book, 'The Way Back Home'. We have continued to focus on using capital letters and full stops. We have described a Martian and then designed our own by cutting shapes and body parts and gluing them to make our own Martian .

Maths

We have continued to learn about the place value of numbers to 50. We have completed practical and written activities to see how many tens and ones are in numbers up to 50. We have completed part part whole models. We are also practising counting in 10's to 100 and forwards and backwards in 1's  to 50.

Science

The next part of our science topic on 'Materials and their properties' has been to look at the properties of flexible and stiff. We observed a variety of objects made of different materials and sorted them into the 2 groups.

Topic

We are very interested in our topic of 'Space' and looking at the history of space travel. This week we found out about 'Neil Armstrong' and why he is a significant person. We saw photographs of him as the first person to walk on the moon. We found out about his life and how he got into space travel.

Have a lovely weekend.
