Sometimes science can go horribly wrong. Not the children; it's Mr Metcalfe who needed to be corrected (don't worry - the mistakes were on purpose to allow the children to discover the right answer). Here they are undertaking different amounts of physical activity to see what effect that has on breathing and heart rate (pulse).
Mr Metcalfe had said that when he carried out this test, his breathing went up but his pulse stayed the same. The children repeated the investigation and found that after exercise, BOTH breathing and pulse go up.
