Y6 are close to producing a piece of independent writing, based on Class novel, Hetty Feather, that aims to portray one of the characters sadness and despair as they hand their foster child, who they have card for as their own, back to an institution called the Foundling Hospital. Their attitude to produce quality, varied sentences is a strength, with several children scarcely believing they were capable of producing writing they could be so proud of. What an encouraging sign! Maybe next week's blog could feature some examples.
