Flu vaccine
As we head into flu season, it's more important than ever to help protect our children and those around them. Flu vaccination is offered to all children aged 2 and 3 years of age.
By vaccinating eligible children, we not only safeguard their health but also help reduce the spread of illness in our wider community protecting those most vulnerable and leading to fewer nursery absences, GP visits, and hospital admissions.
The flu vaccine for 2 and 3 years olds is a nasal spray, it is safe and well-tolerated, with most side effects being mild and short-lived. Children and infants do not usually need to be kept away from their childcare setting after receiving a vaccination. There is also an injectable vaccine available for those who object to the trace porcine gelatine elements in the nasal spray .
Appointments are available through GP practice or at some local community pharmacies. We kindly ask for your support in promoting the childhood flu vaccination programme this season.

What a fun week we've had this week. We have been baking, taking part in yoga, been on the bus in to Wigan to see all of the buses and enjoying lots of autumn activities. The children really enjoyed yoga and our mindful relaxation techniques. They all had a can do attitude and joined in. We have enjoyed exploring all of the conkers that we have collected on our walks in our sensory activities and making marks with them in the playdough.
