Outdoor play⚽️
This week was national children's mental health week, so we did lots of fun things and accessed the environment. The children love going on buses so that's exactly what we did, they had so much fun waving to cars/buses and bus drivers. They even got to hear the horn when the drivers beeped at us
We made lots of people smile by singing the wheels on the bus.
On Wednesday we took a walk around the environment and talked about the different noises we could hear whilst outside, the children are very confident at pointing to the different things they see such as cars, trucks, cats, dogs, birds, aeroplanes etc. We have started to ask the children to find a "footstep friend" when accessing the outdoors, this gives them a sense of responsibility and promotes independence.
Children's mental health week
To promote children's mental health week we had "Well being Wednesday". We laid beds on the floor for the children to they could lie down and get comfy, once relaxed we asked them if they wanted a foot/hand massage. Which some of the children loved participating in and even joined in massaging their friends.
Small group time
The children love small group times, and participate well. This weeks game was finding familiar objects within a group, in the group we used a car, ball, cup, spoon, plate, bed, tiger, block & hat. In turn we asked the children simple questions like "where is the car" "can you find the hat". Some faced challenges and was asked "can you put the spoon in the cup" "can you put the ball on the plate". Small group times are fun for the children so they play alongside other children and gain confidence and form strong bonds.
