Welcome back to this week's class blog.
This week we have been focusing on Summer and the weather has definitely helped! Let's take a look at this weeks invitations to play and learn
We started the week off by thinking about what Summer looks like. We talked about the weather, where we might go and what we might do and wear during the summer. Here's a little selection of writing
We also sorted clothing for winter and clothing suitable for summer. We then created our own fuzzy felt pictures
We took the summer theme into the phonics area and practised reading words on summer cool treats. We challenged ourselves to see how many we could read in 1 minute.
Continuing our theme in the Maths area we used unifix cubes to create summer pictures. We created boats, ice creams and ice lollies.
In our creative area we explored sea shells. We discovered the different types of shells and how they are all different and unique - just like we are! We then created some patterened shells in our creative area!
We also took the theme of Summer into our learning to learn session We had a great time and really enjoyed our hands on learning!
We also created and made our own sandcastles inside! We used our creative skills to design a castle and explored how to change and adapt it to make it even better!
And finally, our maths work this week has been varied. We have made patterns, created number sentences and completed some doubling and halving work. Take a look at us in action
