Welcome back to this week's class blog all about Stickman
We started the week off by exploring lots of wonderful invitations to play and learn. Let's take a look at this weeks invitations to learn.
We started off the week by thinking about the types of things that Stickman said throughout the story. This is a great book for repetitive refrains. Take a look at our work
We then went off into the creative area and created versions of stickmen. We explored pastels, paint and other media and talked about which we preferred. Here we are feeling very proud of our efforts
We also created 3D versions of Stickman. We used twigs and leaves as well as playdough and sticks and took advantage of the sunshine to conduct our learning outside. Great work everyone!
We have also been busy in our Funky Finger area. The Stickman story has given us lots of wonderful activities that have helped to develop our fine motor control and build finger strength
We have even been busy tryign to free Stickman from the frozen ice and snow - just like in the story
We have taken the theme of the Stickman into our Maths area this week. We have been exploring number ordering, doubling and even creating our very own stem sentences. The effort this week has been amazing. Keep up the good work everyone!
We have also been promoting the use of our Fred Fingers. When we are writing in class we encourage the children to use their fingers to help them identify and hear the sounds in words. This week we have have had 3 and 4 sound words and all of the writing you see has been completed independently. Wonderful
Next week our text of the week will be Zog - the lovely story about a dragon at school who is desperate to get a gold star!
Have a fabulous weekend
