13th March

During our learning this week about 'Oliver's Vegetables' we made a mind map, drew and labelled vegetables and enjoyed exploring vegetables that are written about in the story.

We also researched where these vegetables grow and how they grow.  Do they need a seed?, a bulb? or do you plant the whole vegetable!?

Exploring the veggies

In Maths, we have been learning about the parts of 7.

We used two colours to make a tower of 7 and learned the phrases

5 is a part and 2 is a part, the whole is 7

4 is a part and 3 is a part, the whole is 7.

We played head, shoulders, knees and toes and discussed the different parts of us.

We said "My head is part, my knees are a part and the whole is ME!"

Keeping in theme with our text of the week, we used celery bunches to create our Mother's Day cards.

We have also had some more climbing frame fun and learning.  The children love going to the climbing frame and learning new tricks and skills on the equipment.  It takes a lot of bravery and trust in the adults to develop a new skill but they are doing amazingly well!  We have some strong and flexible budding gymnasts in Reception F!

Next week we will be reading the 'The Growing Story'

Please remember to send in a baby picture for us to use as part of our learning.
